I hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer break. September will be the start of a very exciting and busy year for the children which will be jam packed with lots of interesting and fun activities.
Year 6 will begin the autumn term by learning about different forces and environmental issues in our interesting theme called ‘Energy’.
The year 6 team consists of myself, Miss James and Mr El Bushra.
I look forward to getting to know the children better and I am sure that they are going to be very successful at all we try to achieve.
Mr J. Moore
Focus for the year ahead
In Year 6, the dedication to your child’s education at home, as well as in school, is of paramount importance. Towards the end of Year 6, your child will be taking part in the National tests which are set by the Government to assess your child’s progress and attainment in Reading and Numeracy. These tests are important for your child. Therefore, it is imperative that together we give your child the best opportunity for the next stage in their education. We do ask that at home your child completes homework consistently. This is a challenge for all children, but teaches them essential skills to prepare them for the Secondary School and beyond. If your child works hard at school and at home, together we will be able to give your child the best possible chance to succeed to their full potential.
Attendance in school will lead to success this year. If your child is ill, we ask that they catch up on the work missed as extra homework, as they will not have a chance to revisit missed work during the school day. Although this year is full of challenges, there are so many positives and rewards for hard work when we get to the Summer Term. There is our exciting residential trip, prom celebrations, other trips out and many more exciting rewards in return for your child’s hard work.
