My name is Mrs Vicki Davies. I am the Year 3/ Learning Hub 3 teacher and also one of the Assistant Headteachers here at Llandeilo primary.
I have been teaching for 17 years, having been here for 6 years. Interestingly, I came to this school as a child some years ago! My mother says I must have enjoyed school so much, I never wanted to leave!!!
I live locally with my husband, 2 children, aged 12 and 15 and 2 dogs.
I believe that a child’s time at school should be enjoyable, engaging, memorable and develop them holistically for the future ahead. Our vision as a school is…
At Llandeilo Primary School we pride ourselves on putting children at the heart of their learning by encouraging them to become decision makers and problem solvers who can ;
It is a place where all individuals will recognise & realise their potential, aquire academic, technological & social skills in order to play a full part in society. We prepare children to meet & exceed their expectations.
Within my role as Assistant Head I am responsible for monitoring Teaching & Learning and the Curriculum we provide, ensuring that our vision is upheld. We are currently making changes to our whole school pedagogy to ensure we create independent, confident and able learners in line with curriculum changes and adapting our planning further so that all pupils are able to add their voice and ideas to their daily activities and termly themes.
I am also a big fan of outdoor learning, believing that more learning can take place outdoors. You will often find us out in the school grounds.
Your child’s school days are the days that make the biggest imprint on their future and attitudes towards learning. I aim to make them the best of days , inspiring your children to reach their full potential. I have an open door policy, so if you ever have a query or concern, please ask to see me.
I believe I am firm, but fair! I have high expectations, both on your child’s learning and behaviour.
In our learning hub, children know that Mrs Davies expects:
Following these rules and meeting expectations will result in the earning of class ‘Dojo’ points.
Homework is given on a Tuesday and should be returned by a Friday please.
Maths and Literacy homework is given alternatively each week.
Your child will also receive a project homework menu where they can select tasks to complete, as many or as few as they like, and earn points.
Spellings will be given in a spelling book on a Tuesday. They will be tested on the spellings in the same book on a Monday. You will then be able to see how your child does each week. However, for this to work it is vital that you return your child’s spelling book to school every Monday without fail!
I look forward to a busy but fun year! Thank you for your support. Diolch am eich cefnogaeth
Here’s to continued ‘Success with a Smile’ ‘Llwyddiant gyda Gwên’.
